John and I were out in Joshua Tree a few weeks ago with Ben Uyeda and Mike Montgomery, two of the three hosts of the Modern Maker Podcast along with Chris Salomone. The guys just started up a new business aimed at Makers. It’s called Maker Brand Co. and they are looking to fill the gaps in the market and provide clean, simple, no fluff versions of products we all use in the shop like clamps, finishes, hand saws and apparel. We talk with the guys about what’s it like to start a new product business and some of the learnings and struggles they’ve had during startup.
