Today we have an interview with our favorite German maker, Laura Kampf.  Laura’s builds are born out of pure creativity as she repurposes and reconfigures old and new items alike into amazing creations.  She thrives on the challenge of coming up with new ideas and keeping the pureness of creativity front and center. She talks with us about the balance between being an artist and a businesswoman, how to monetize without sacrificing your brand’s vision as an artist and craftswoman,  and how she works through the creative process.

Laura has been a huge influence to the maker community since she hit the scene, amassing over 330K YouTube subscribers in just a few years. With her eye for the cinematic, and an amazing style, Laura is inspiring makers all over the world myself and brad included. She is a ball of inspiration and energy and we’re super excited to have her on the show!

But  before we dive into the show we want to thank this week’s sponsor, Spring Make. Spring Make is the only event for makers marrying Skill Building and Brand Building with hands on experience and workshops with some of the maker communities biggest names. This year’s show takes place in Cleveland Ohio on April 25-27, and not only are we both super stoked to be teaching at the show this year, but we’re also very excited because Laura happens to be one of the instructors as well. She’ll be teaching a course called So You Want To Do This for a Living?, and Brad and I are both pumped about it! We had a blast meeting Laura at last year’s event, and in the show you’ll see why we love getting time to learn from someone with so much talent.
